Us, Vegetarians, Why?




Recentely I came across this video and I wanted to share it with everyone because for those vegetarians like me  who are in a constant battle fighting the "cravings" of the meat we use to consumed and seing something like this...... gives me the courage to continue, knowing that I am doing the right thing by not eating animals.
Also my consumption of Dairy Products is less now than it used to be, now I just have eggs once a week and had been able to substitute eggs for Oat meal, fruits and Cereal, when it comes to cheese I eat half the amount of it than before (sad, I know, who doesn't love cheese right?) and thank goodness for products like "Morning Star" and" Bucca" that make our daily meals a lot easier.
It's just like anything else.... It's all about choices and we are lucky that Mother Nature has plenty of choices for us. So, after watching this video I really hope more people join the Vegtarian or even better! the Vegan Diet to put a STOP to the suffering of those animals and choose to be healthier and to  live longer!

If you decide you will give it a try and become Vegetarian try this book I use it's called, Renegade Recipe Guide,  it's very affordable as well as the ingredients needed for the recipes, besides having great recipes is great for the enviroment because is an E-Book which makes it even better! as a Vegetarian that cares for the animals I also care about the trees  : )
Start by adding those meals to your daily diet, maybe substitute one meal at a time and see how well you are going to feel, a lot lighter, less bloated and less fat and cholesterol in your body.

The reason why I am vegetarian? well below it's just an example of why





For my son and daughter, friends and family it's kind of hard to understand how after eating almost everything that moved and breath ( well not everything, there where things that I can say I would have never tasted ) how do you get your body to refuse to eat what you are use to eat? in my case it was kind of easy because I was use to eat lots of vegetables as well as meats, I used to balance my meals with 50% vegetables and 50% meats and I'm going to be honest, it just doesn't happen from night to day, I stop eating animals completely a year after I decided to start donating money to the Humane Society and seeing pictures like this where animals are treated inhumanely just to "feed us". When I thought of animals, what it will come to my mind was Dogs and Cats! probably because I grew up in the city I would hardly see cows, pigs, chickens etc. but when I started to read magazines about Animal Cruelty ! that's when it clicked to me and started to think...Why Am I Eating Animals? it didn't sound fair to me that this beings, just because they couldn't talk and say "I have rights too" here I was eating them.



So I stoped with the red meats and chicken first, just eating fish and shrimp once or twice a week until a year later that I, (some how) was able to program my brain to not to eat -Nothing with a Face- any more and it's been 3 years and 6 months to be exact. I am no nutritionist but is not hard to know that we can get proteins from other sources and not just animals and even better... it's healthier!!!

-No cholesterol
-No saturated fats
-No watching the amounts of food
-No over-weight

Vegetables are an amazing resource for us all we need is some Creativity and Great Seasonings right? plus now this days it's easy to find in any grocery store great brands of Soy Based Imitation Meats, I usually buy them in big quantities when they are on sale at the grocery stores :) I stocked up my freezer and don't have to strecth my budget to buy those items that can be a little pricey when I buy them at regular price but,  it's worth the price when you know that you are not killing other living beings to feed your self right? This companies are doing so great coming up with this "fake meats" like my kid's called them, and what's funny is that sometimes I use this products with my recipes and they don't even notice the difference until I tell them so I think it is possible for all of us to leave those poor animals alone and try stop eating meat or at least minimize the consumption  of it to have a better world, I have also minimize the amounts of dairy products I eat and still feel great!
